FMHS Band Places 3rd at Wake Forest BOA

For the third consecutive weekend, marching bands in the Carolinas performed in the wind and rain. And for the third consecutive year, the Dobyns-Bennett HS Band from Kingsport, TN won the Bands of America Regional in Winston-Salem, NC. The Fort Mill HS Band placed 3rd.

24 bands from NC, SC, GA, VA, and TN traveled to Winston-Salem, NC for the Bands of America Regional at BB&T Stadium on the campus of Wake Forest University. All 24 bands performed in the prelims; then the top ten scoring bands advanced to the evening finals. Fort Mill placed 3rd in prelims and 3rd in finals:

4—Panther Creek, NC
5—Lambert, GA
6—McEachern, GA
7—Green Hope, NC
8—Boiling Springs, SC
9—Cary, NC
10—Bassett, VA

Next Saturday, October 17th the Fort Mill Band will travel to north Columbia for the Blythewood Tournament of Bands. 31 bands are scheduled to compete in 4 classes.
